Marybank Visit Edinburgh 1994

In 1991 Marybank visited Edinburgh with Conon Bridge Primary, as it had been organised by the previous head teacher. We went again in 1994 on our own and enjoyed visiting a number of interesting places.

Apart from hills around Edinburgh where we had great views of the city, we visited the Edinburgh Butterfly farm where pupils could interact with butterflies. There were other creepy crawlies that they could hold in their hands like millipedes and hairy spiders,

On this trip we also went to Meadowbank Stadium, where they had a run round the track, but the highlight in our Edinburgh was definitely our tour of Tynecastle Park, home of Heart of Midlothian (a little biased opinion I know). The club had built the Wheatfield stand and we could see the new stands being built at the Gorgie Road and Roseburn ends. At that time we used to video everything, but unfortunately I do not have the video, which is too bad because our cameraman, pupil David Gammie did a great job.
