Oxbridge Lane Primary – France Visit 1987 Videos

In 1987, with other teachers from Oxbridge, I took Primary 7 (Year 6) pupils to Asnieres, a small town near Paris, where we stayed in a boarding school. The school was closed to pupils for the holidays, and used by other schools that wanted to visit Paris. We travelled to France by coach, a very long and uncomfortable journey. We had two travelling days and six days in France.

We had a barbecue with members of the local community and a disco during our stay at the school. Our hosts also organised games with all of our pupils. Everyone was very hospitable. During our visits to Paris we visited all the usual sights; Arc de Triomphe, Eiffel Tower, Sacre-Coeur, Champs-Elysees, Notre-Dames de Paris, Le Louvre, Montmartre, Centre George Pompidou and Versailles. We also visited many other sites including Place du Trocadero, where there were some very talented and skilful teenagers on roller boots, performing some incredible acrobatic feats in front of a delighted audience of tourists.
