Each year at Marybank Primary there was a Teddy Bears’ Picnic for the Nursery and P1-3 class as part of the transition process for nursery children.
Everyone brought along a Teddy to join in the fun. There were games in the field with the parachute and other fun activities, as well as picnic food for all to enjoy. Teachers and some volunteer parents would organise the event and help the younger children get acquainted with their new friends.
This was just one of the activities where the nursery and Primary 1-3 class were working together to make the transition from the Nursery to Primary as seamless and painless as possible, and was usually a great success for all concerned. Unfortunately the weather wasn’t always the best for the picnic, which sometimes would have to be indoors.
