Marybank Visit Landmark 1991

In the summer term of my first session at Marybank, we went to Landmark at Carrbridge, near Aviemore. Nowadays it’s called a ‘Forest Adventure Park’, and appears to have more activities that are about fun, rather than nature.

In 1991 there were few activities – Tree Top Walk, Large Chute, being among the most memorable, but the focus was more on woodland and nature. This trip had been arranged for the whole school and although enjoyable, it was more aimed at the younger pupils, which meant older pupils were less enthusiastic. Future summer trips were separate and geared towards the particular age groups.

As luck would have it, the weather that day was not the best, with drizzle and mist, but we never let the rain spoil our days out.
