Oxbridge Lane Primary Centenary 1990

Oxbridge Lane Primary

In 1990 Oxbridge Lane Primary celebrated its centenary. To mark the occasion the school staff organised a week of celebrations, which included staff and pupils being dressed in the clothes of the time and conducting some typical lessons of the period in 1890. An appeal was made to past staff and pupils for any photos or other memorabilia and following a great response we were able to have a display at an exhibition reflecting the 100 years of Oxbridge.

Former staff and pupils were able to visit school during this period to enjoy our work, and was well attended by many, including some very elderly former staff and pupils. During their visit centenary cakes were celebrated with tea. It was a great occasion enjoyed by all who took part. Since that time Oxbridge Lane Primary has celebrated 125 years.
