Bamburgh Castle is about 9 miles (14 km) to the south on a point of coastal land is the ancient fortress of Dunstanburgh Castle and about 5 miles (8 km) to the north is Lindisfarne Castle on Holy Island.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I visited Bamburgh earlier this summer.  The castle is very imposing, and has a large cricket green alongside the village.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
